Larry,
Hi, what’s happenin’? What did you do on Christmas? We all went to Charlene and Uncle Jack’s house. It was boring there. Believe me. I left about 5:30. Me, Carol Porter and a bunch of kids went bowling at Cooper’s that night and then went to this party. These two guys were giving it. Both of them were 1967 grads from Anderson High. I thought that party was going to be a drag, but it turned out great. With Pabst, a party can’t be bad. We had fun. Did I ever tell you what I got on my report card? I got one “A”, two “B’s” and one “C” and one and my first “D”. Isn’t that great? Still probably be a “F” the next time. Ask me if I care! Well I better go now. I’m tired and its about 12:00 A.M. now. I have to wake up early and do something with my hair. Write once in a lifetime to me, please…
Love ya,
Carol

Larry,
Hi man, what’s happenin’?! This is Fri. nite and there are zero things to do except go out and get BLITZED. I think I will, I usually do every once in a while.
Mother has been griping at me lately. Today, her gripe was the fact that she gave me $10.00 down payment for my class ring. My class ring should be tough. It’s yellow gold with aquamarine setting. It’s gonna be cool, I hope.
Have you been doing anything neat lately? Do you ever have a chance to get BLASTED DRUNK over there?
[Paragraph is illegible]
Thomas wrote me and wants you to write to him. We have a bet on the AHS/MHHS basketball game. If MHHS wins, Thomas buys the liquor and we are gonna get drunk. If Anderson wins, I’ll buy the booze.
Well, I better go! Here’s an ugly picture of me.
Be good.
Carol

Dear Larry,
Just a few lines to let you know we got back from Cincinnati OK. We left this morning at 8 AM from Perfecto on Old 67 and left the car parked there. There [were] about 50 parents and children, including the “68 City Champs” for 3 years in a row.
It was a beautiful day, pleasant all along and never too hot. We got up at 5 and went to the 6 o’clock mass. Mother, Karl, Tresa and I. Carol went to Cincinnati yesterday with the girls’ Phys. Ed. class, sophomores. Left at 6 and got back at 11 PM. I felt fine all trip until we stopped at Batesville and the Falstaff bus drove in. Then my tongue began hanging out. I didn’t know any of the guys on the slacker bus, but they had plenty of lemonade, you can bet.

Larry,
Hi, how are ya? I’m sorry I haven’t written in years, but now that school has started, I haven’t had time to do anything but study. Haha. Every night when I get home from school, all I can do is do my homework, talk on the phone, wash my hair and roll it up and take a bath. By this time it’s 11:30 and I have to go to bed.
Our reserve football team at MHHS [Madison Heights High School] is pretty great this year, although we did get beat by AHS [Anderson High School] reserves. 7-0 was the score. At this game, one of our star players got a broken collar bone. They were really out to kill us.
We played Marion, the varsity, and I must admit, they creamed us. The score was 33-7. Marion has a rough team, but Anderson probably won’t beat them either. We play highland the 21st of Sept. and Anderson the 11th of Oct. We’ll beat ‘em though, you just wait.

Larry,
I just got back from the sectional about an hour ago. It was so neat because Madison Heights won by 15 pts. over Highland. The score was 67 to 52. I felt sorry for Highland because they were doing so good until they met Madison in that final game. They played a cool game with Anderson and beat them in an overtime. Highland also beat Alexandria in a double overtime game. Both of them were barn burners, believe me!
It’s too bad Anderson had to get beat by Highland. HA HA. Well, I guess I won’t rub it in anymore than I already have.

Dear Larry:
Here it is Sunday and a cold, sun shining day here. I was thinking that maybe you might call today since we didn’t here from you all week. Maybe after your basic training you may have more time to write to us. I sure hope so. I didn’t get to write to you yesterday . I kinda thought that dad would write to you, but he must have fallen asleep when I went to bingo. Dad and Karl went to the Anderson and Indianapolis Shortridge basketball game last night and Anderson won 63-60. Karl said they played Richmond Friday night and they won that game too. Karl said it was a close game but he didn’t know the score.
