Dear Larry:
Just got through with my washing. I hate to do it on Sunday but it was so dreary outside that I felt like doing it since there is not much else to do. It sure made me feel a little better to hear your voice on the phone, the only thing I hated was to say good-bye.
Dad isn’t home from the [Polish] Club yet, boy, when he goes to those meetings he forgets to come home. I know that he will be glad to hear that you are getting savings bonds every pay. I forgot to ask you on the phone, but did you get paid yet? I’ll bet you don’t go anywhere so you don’t have to spend any money. I think its a good idea to save some of it.
Well, there isn’t much going on around here. I helped Aunt Helen at Bingo Friday and Saturday, and as usual, I didn’t win any money. Joanna got off work at 7:30 last night (Sat. nite) and stayed at home. She had to get up this morning and went to the 6 o’clock mass and had to be at work at 7 to 10:30, then went back at 3:30 to 7:30 tonight. Tomorrow is her day off. She runs around with Carol J—-. Joanna said Billie B—– is getting married next Saturday and she didn’t even invite her or Carol to the wedding. At least one good thing about it is that she will save some money and not have to get her a wedding gift.
I guess Diane P—– is still going with Mike F—–, maybe she will be getting married when he gets his divorce. Why would a girl like her do a thing like that? I don’t know. She doesn’t even call Joanna up anymore, and here they used to be the best of friends.
Tresa, Karl and Schmulick are all sitting here watching me write to you. I told the kids that I should have put Schmulick on the phone to meow to you. As for Chipper, he is outside, we let him in once in a while when its cold outside. We still put him in the garage at night. Here is a clipping from this mornings paper. This man is going to be guest speaker at St. Ambrose next Sunday. Karl and Dad are going to the breakfast. Dad sold quite a few tickets for it. Will close for now and hope to hear from you.
Love
Mom

Hi Larry,
I want to tell you about a funny dream mommy told me she had. Here it goes. One day we had company, and she hadn’t seen you in 2 years. No one noticed you until you said, “Hi everyone.” They all turned around and looked at you. Mommy thought you looked so skinny. Then she said to you, “Why are you so skinny?” You said I didn’t eat in 6 days because the food was so greasy. Now mommy said, “I hope you didn’t run away.” Then when mommy asked how you got home, she woke up. That was some dream mommy had. In that dream mommy acted like she wasn’t even excited. Now I have a few words to say, if you don’t write to us, we wont write to you. Daddy said a letter is better than a phone call.
Your Sister
Ellie Mae [Tresa]
